Top Things to Do in Atlanta This Weekend and Week 7/23-7/29

Howdy folks! Apologies for not getting events out last week – we’ve been working on pushing out some huge upcoming projects! Get excited for more events to show up on our calendar each week (starting this week!) and more ways to access/interact with our site!

This week we have the BB&T Atlanta Open, along with National Tequila Day to keep us going through the work week. Don’t miss great music and shows like Cash Cash on Friday night and Black Nerd at Dad’s Garage! Then Saturday get ready for the 8th annual Atlanta Ice Cream Festival, followed by indoor and outdoor fun at the Fernbank Summer Block Party! Then Sunday you’re set with PeachFest Atlanta for your Georgia Peach needs.

Comedy:

  • Come see some great comedy from the newest grads over at Dad’s Garage for their Graduation Show! Their graduation show will only run you $5 and you get to check out the up and comers and see the culmination of their improv work!

  • Cash Cash will be playing at Opera this Friday! Get your ticket soon before I buy them all! For real, last time these guys were in town they KILLED it, so don’t miss them.
  • PleaseRock presents an evening of Steely Dan with Broadway Duchess at Venkman’s! Broadway Duchess will play all the Steely Dan hits, including the entirety of their album Aja. If you love good music (and Steely Dan) you can’t miss this show.

  • The 8th annual Atlanta Ice Cream Festival is this Saturday and features America’s Favorite Dessert – Creme Brulee! Just kidding, ICE CREAM! This event also includes a variety of health and wellness engagement activities, fitness routines, food & non-food vendors, live local musical entertainment and even a morning 5k Fight Cancer Walk.

  • Join UnitedHealthcare and the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership for a free Health and Wellbeing BeltLine Bootcamp at the new Atlanta BeltLine Center! This event kicks off UnitedHealthcare’s sponsorship of the Partnership’s Arboretum tours, and attendees will be able to take tours led by Trees Atlanta. Enjoy activities like yoga with Dancing Dogs Yoga, along with a water infusion station, a trail mix bar and popsicles from King of Pops!

Sunday

Food and Drink:

  • PeachFest Atlanta is this Sunday with tons of local vendors and chefs bringing their locally-sourced peach creations to sell! More than 65 food artisans, pastry chefs and barkeeps will keep you fed and happy. Tickets start at $60 for an all-inclusive afternoon peach-feast.
