Best Events This Memorial Day Weekend

Welcome weekly readers and newcomers! We at ATL by Day usually post our week events on Mondays, and the weekend events on Wednesdays, but because there are SO many events this Memorial Day Weekend we wanted to give you all a heads up on the big events!

On the top of the list are MomoCon, the Atlanta Jazz Festival, and Orpheus’s Four Year Anniversary!

Friday

Bars & Brews:

  • It feels like just yesterday that Orpheus Brewing was opening its doors and pouring out the first of the best sours Atlanta has to offer. Yet here we are, celebrating their fourth anniversary this Memorial Day Weekend! There will be 4 days of festivities, 14+ new beers, new can releases, food trucks, artists, and more. Friday’s festivities run from 5pm-midnight and cost $22.85.

Comedy:

  • Come to Dad’s Garage to see the Hamilton-inspired show, Benjamin Franklin: American Gigolo. This will surely be the next great Founding Father story. Benjamin Franklin may have never been President of the United States, but his tale as King of the Players Club is a story worth telling! The show is from 8-10pm and tickets cost $12.50.

Music:

  • Bubbapalooza 2018 is here to bring you 4 big days of music at the Star Bar! Headliners include Roadkill Debutante, Ghost Riders Car Club, Anna Kramer & the Lost Cause, and Mark “Porkchop” Holder. Price depends on day, and ranges from free on Thursday to $15 for your ticket. Friday’s festivities run from 7pm-midnight.

Social:

  • The year’s biggest anime/manga, gaming, and cosplay event is here with MomoCon! This event just keeps getting bigger, with tons of panels, special guests, and shows. All these events are nicely put together on their online schedule here! Make sure to register and get your ticket. Even if you’re not into the anime and manga scene, this Con has plenty for gamers too! Check out our pre-event article here!

Saturday

Art:

  • The Old Fourth Ward Arts Festival is an exciting addition to the O4W community! This is a two-day celebration of our local arts and crafts, and will include something for everyone. You can expect arts for view and sale, food and drinks, and live music. Saturday festivities run from 10am-5pm.

Bars & Brews:

  • It feels like just yesterday that Orpheus Brewing was opening its doors and pouring out the first of the best sours Atlanta has to offer. Yet here we are, celebrating their fourth anniversary this Memorial Day Weekend! There will be 4 days of festivities, 14+ new beers, new can releases, food trucks, artists, and more. Saturday’s festivities run from 1pm-8pm and cost $22.85.
  • This Memorial Day weekend help save the planet and get a little tipsy at the same damn time with Zoo Atlanta and Groupon’s Brew at the Zoo! Sip on over 70 beers and wines, listen to some great live music, and do it all with the knowledge that your ticket supports wildlife conservation here and around the globe. Tickets cost $55 and the event runs from 5:30-9:30pm.

  • The Atlanta Jazz Festival is regarded as one of the largest FREE jazz festivals in the country. An annual celebration of the music, culture and art of jazz begins in April and culminates each Memorial Day weekend, with an outdoor festival featuring jazz artists from all over the world. Saturday runs from 12:30-11:30pm.
